Care of Medication for care workers (COM) 2 Hrs
The course is designed to equip learners with the skills, knowledge and confidence to help your staff understand their roles as a carer with the administration of medication for clients. This course is used all work places with a responsibility of medication in a care environment

- Regulations regarding medication
- Types of medication
- Routes of medication
- Controlled drugs
- Reporting - MARs
- Seven rights of medication administration
- Errors and problems
With years of experience dealing with life emergencies, our expert trainers draw on their own experiences to make learning fun and memorable. Our trainers have up to date subject knowledge and come from a care/NHS back round. This ensures that learners leave with the confidence and vital skills needed to deal with the wide range of situations.
Assessment and Certification
The course consists of 2 hours contact time. Successful candidates will receive a Care of Medication (COM) certificate. This is valid for a period of 3 years.
All learners must be at least 17 years old and possess reasonable numeracy and literacy skills. Have an interest in care and willing to learn some new skills
We recommend a 3-yearly refresher training to keep learners skills current and up to date.
